SERIES PROMOTION & REVIEW - TIMESTORM - TEMPEST BY JULIE CROSS

BOOK PROMOTION
The breathtaking conclusion to the time-travel trilogy that is “both tender and electric” (Publishers Weekly)
BLURB from Goodreads
The battle between the Tempest division and Eyewall comes to a shocking conclusion in this final installment of the Tempest trilogy, where the need for survival stretches the boundaries of history, both past and future, and the world Jackson once knew is a place forever marked by the detrimental effects of time travel.

As Jackson recovers from his brush with death, he’s surrounded not only by the people he loves most—his dad, Courtney, and Holly—he’s also amongst a few of the original time travelers. As he learns more about their life and how this world began, it becomes apparent that they need to put a stop to Thomas and Doctor Ludwig’s experimenting at Eyewall Headquarters. What starts out as an escape plan becomes a war between time and humanity, between freewill and peace. It’s the battle Jackson was born to fight and he’s not about to back down. Not for anything. Not for anyone.

REST OF THE SERIES

TEMPEST
TEMPEST BK#1

The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy... he's in college, has a girlfriend... and he can travel back through time. But it's not like the movies - nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there's no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors - it's just harmless fun.

That is... until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he's stuck in 2007 and can't get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it's not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these "Enemies of Time" will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit... or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he's willing to go to save Holly... and possibly the entire world.

Jackson Meyer has thrown himself into his role as an agent for Tempest, the shadowy division of the CIA that handles all time-travel-related threats. And when Eyewall, an opposing division of the CIA, emerges, Jackson and his fellow agents not only find themselves under attack, but Jackson begins to discover that the world around him has changed and someone knows about his erased relationship with Holly, putting both their lives at risk all over again.

INITIAL THOUGHTS
Book two definitely left me wanting much more, it left lot of questions in my mind that I wanted answering in this book. So I'd say i was definitely looking forward to reading it.
The only thing that was bothering me was would I slip back into plot line or would I be confused at the beginning?

MY REVIEW
So I received a paperback from Macmillan in exchange for my honest review.
The cover is certainly striking being bright orange! It features a maelstrom that is mentioned in the book. The cover depicts what happens near the ending of the book.
Would the cover make me want to pick the book up from a bookstore shelf? Yes!
So the book starts where the last one left off. This review is so hard to write without giving anything at all away so excuse me for being vague. . . please.
This book is complicated, and has many complex twists and turns and yes occasionally your kind of playing catch up in your mind. So you do have to concentrate whilst reading but its well worth the effort sticking with the book!
This being the last book in the fantastic series has lots and lots of questions to answer and yes it does unravel previous knots and answers the questions. It also brings up new questions within this book and answers those.
All the characters we have loved throughout the series feature and end up coming to some sort of peace or conclusion. All the loose ends are tied up, and this final book gives a definitive ending to the series. Could there be more? . . .hmmm maybe I suppose some novella's but the three books cover everything so well for me.
You do go on an emotional journey with Jackson . . .he still loves whichever year Holly he is with, yet that Holly never remembers the love they shared. Or is that what the mini visions are? Are the memories from the other versions of them somehow bleeding through? Or could Holly fall in love with Jackson all over again? What year will they end up in? What will happen to Emily as she is from the future where will she be safe?
So I guess my review seems a bit confusing but I have found it pretty hard to write without giving anything away at all. Prior to reading this series I'd never been interested in reading about time travel but I will say this book series certainly changed my opinion to a favourable one.
So did I enjoy the book? Loved it!  Would I recommend the book? Yes its a MUST read! Would I read other books by this Author? Definitely!
