GUEST REVIEWS BY RACHEL

The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan is the first book in The Black Magician Trilogy and is about The Magicians Of Imardin, whilst cloaked in the protection of their sorcery roaming the streets to purge the city of undesirables, they have no fear of reciprocations from those they are trying to evict until one girl enraged, throws a stone at them and effortlessly bypasses their magical shield.
What The Magicians' Guild had long dreaded came to pass: someone outside their ranks possesses a raw power beyond imagining, an untrained mage who must be found and schooled before she destroys herself and her city with a force she cannot yet control.

When I first found this book by Trudi Canavan it was in the form of an audiobook (not from Amazon), unfortunately halfway through the audiobook vanished from my device, so I eventually read this book (some time later, after much searching) as a paperback edition. It was well worth the wait!

Available at Amazon.co.uk for £4.87 (paperback) and £4.99 (kindle e-book)

The Novice by Trudi Canavan is the second book in the Black Magician Trilogy.
Like the first book (The Magicians' Guild), this book is about Sonea and her time & experiences among the novices at The Magicians' Guild.
The Novice by Trudi Canavan is also about Dannyl (a fellow magician who has befriended Sonea), his travels and what he discovers on his journey.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first, at first it was a bit slow going during the bits where its from Dannyl's point of view, but it soon picks up!

Available at Amazon.co.uk for £4.94 (paperback) and £4.99 (kindle e-book)

The High Lord by Trudi Canavan is the last book in The Black Magician Trilogy.
In this book Sonea must deal with what black Magic she saw occur in the first book (The Magicians' Guild). Now she cannot hide from the terrifying truths her mentor, The High Lord wishes to share with her.
I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the first two in the trilogy, I was sad to know that there wouldn't be another book in the series about Sonea.

Available at Amazon.co.uk for £5.30 (paperback) and £4.99 (kindle e-book).
