Cassidy Wren followed her dreams to sing from a farming community in Iowa to bustling New York City, with her small town boyfriend Eddie by her side. Tired of rejection, a fateful phone call leads them back to her hometown of Hampton, California.
Negative Ion keyboardist Greg Mitchell is embroiled in a nasty custody battle with his ex while attempting to heal and keep strong for the rest of the band members after the loss of a brother. Sparks fly when Cassidy and Greg’s paths collide, but the guilt from their unusual rendezvous may just be enough to destroy her. Plus, Cassidy’s new friend Kimber is hiding something and she suspects it has to do with missing Negative Ion drummer, Jaxon Malloy.
Cassidy soon finds her life in a complete flux and she doesn’t know who to choose: the man she knows will always be there for her or the man who sets her body aflame?

BLURB from Goodreads
With friends and siblings like hers, Kimber Forrest felt like all she had were enemies when dealing with her fractured love life…

Kimber wanted to be a lawyer almost as much as she wanted Roland Sampson, her older brother’s best friend. After pining for him for two years, Kimber finally accepts that to Roland, she will always be “his best friend’s kid sister” and nothing more.

During her first year of college, Kimber meets Samantha and her twin, ultimate bad-boy Jaxen Malloy, drummer for Negative Ion. Tatted. Muscled. Beyond gorgeous. Soon Kimber finds herself forgetting Roland and thinking only of Jaxen, much to Samantha’s disappointment. Like Kimber’s brother, Samantha wants Kimber as far away from Jaxen, female enemy number one, as possible since she knew all Jaxen would do is viciously hurt her. Not this time, Kimber insisted. Well-schooled on Jaxen’s reputation, Kimber decides to take what she can get, and ignore all the warnings to stay away from the handsome bad-boy.

Will Jaxen ever think of Kimber as something other than his “annoying” sister’s friend or could he possibly be falling for her, too? Kimber hoped so and, to find out, she was willing to take the risk of Jaxen breaking her heart… and soul.

About The Author
Born and raised in the Midwest, Ryanne Anthony is a wife, mother of two, daydream believer and writer whose third passion is giving life to the characters that occupy her mind, in hopes that she thoroughly entertains her reader and earn a fan or two.
“My goals in writing are to make my reader laugh, gasp, scream, yell, get angry, cry and nod. At the end of every story, I want them to THINK on what I've written, possibly identify on a storyline or two. Every book, I try to do that. I want to entertain you, to not regret spending time 'inside my head'.”

What is your Name and/or Pen Name? Is there a special story that explains how you got your Pen Name, if you have one?
Ryanne Anthony. It’s the middle names of my children.

Who is your favorite writer/author?
Judy Blume. Has been forever!

What is your favorite book/book series?
Book: Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.
Series: Neighbor from Hell by R.L. Mathewson

What made you decide to be a writer?
These voices! Argh! For years, I avoided them, ignored them. I could not figure out that I was supposed to write down what they were saying/doing until a shrink said I was NOT mentally incapacitated. Kidding, but not about the voices.

Who/What inspires you the most to be a writer?
My brain. I have to listen to it and it never shuts off. Rest? No idea what that is, anymore. Next is my kids. Writing helps me avoid them, especially when they start acting like monkeys freshly escaped from the zoo.

What do you find has been inspiring your stories and characters?
People around me; family and friends, but mostly myself. I find different things are implanted in my female characters that are me. Names of relatives are used a lot, as well.

What do you ABSOLUTELY have to have with you while you are writing?
Good speakers. I cannot write without music. I love it. I live it. I breathe it. I like a lot of different genres so I have to have the Spotify blaring every time I sit at my computer.

What kind of music do you listen to, if any? Favorite singer/band?
Anything that makes me think. I like it all. My favorite band right now is Seether. I would listen to them all hours of the day, if I could.

What is your favorite research tool?
Google. Hands down.

What is your favorite part of writing a story/novel/song/poem/article?
Critiques, good or bad. I try to make people laugh, cry, angry, etc. in every book. If I don’t, I want to know it right away and attempt to fix it in my next work. If I have, I smile and hope I can do it again in another book.

What is your favorite genre to write/read?
I love to read and write romance. I like when the characters fight but only if it’s a fight worth having. I love when a man is dominant but still lets her do her thing.

If you could only choose 5 novels to read over and over again for the rest of your life, which ones do you choose?
Are You There, God? It’s Me Margaret - Judy Blume
Sweet Dreams - Kristen Ashley
Effortless - S.C. Stephens
Wifey - Judy Blume
Madison - Me

If you could meet any writer, living/dead, who would it be?
Toss-up between (yep) Judy Blume and Kurt Sutter. His mind just thrills me!

What do you most want to accomplish as a writer?
To entertain. I want everyone who reads me to say, ‘Damn, that was one of the best reads I’ve ever had!

EXCERPT
from
Despair

I felt him move closer then he pressed his hard, lean body into my back.
“Hello, Cass. I’m Greg.”
I breathed deeply, and closing my eyes, I took a step forward. I shook my head, wanting to scream that I didn’t know him, but at the same time, I just…I couldn’t. I wanted him and knew it as soon as he’d stepped into the elevator. I knew it because my nipples tightened and every hair, not just the ones on my neck, raised. I prayed the elevator would move faster. Tension crackled everywhere in that tiny space, and I shivered. I wanted this stranger.
“H-hello, Greg,” I managed to reply, tightly crossing my arms on my heavy breasts.
“We don’t have much time. I’d like us to stop talking now so that I can help with your problem. I have a condom.”
I closed my eyes tighter, trying to keep my breathing in control. My mouth went dry and I lost all train of thought so all I could say to that was: “Um, huh?”
“Shh,” he whispered at my ear, moving my hair to the left shoulder.
My pulse raced. He said nothing else. I saw his chocolate hand reach past me to the control panel and pulled the stop button. Next, the power shut off and it was dark. Pitch black dark, and it made me even more aware of the heat and tension that crackled like an open flame between us.
I felt his hand on my thigh, then my skirt hiked up achingly slow. His other hand gradually lowered down my quivering belly into the waist of my skirt. His fingers slithered inside my panties and I felt like I was choking as I panted in anticipation and waited… waited for his hand to reach where I needed him.
His finger finally reached my clit and circled it slowly. I gasped and threw my head back, the base landing on his hard chest. I heard my panties rip and then his other hand cupped my ass, then his long fingers entered me and I gasped when he began to stroke.
“You can tell me to stop, Cass,” he whispered heatedly into my ear.
Yeah, that’s not going to happen.
