Nothing makes a new school suck worse than discovering the guy you’re in love with is your prophesied nemesis.
Ari is the most powerful flame-throwing sorceress ever, and her people’s last hope in an ancient war. But she’s also a seventeen-year-old girl, and in her free, not-hunting-nemesis times, she jumps from school to school, trying to figure out regular people her own age and pretending she’ll get the chance to graduate.
Shane lives a double life. He goes to school and masters the art of popularity, hiding the fact that he has a fate with a slim chance of his survival. He’s destined to end a 300 year-old war by killing or being killed. He knows he’s hunted by a powerful enemy who’s not afraid to die. Only problem? He has no idea who that enemy is.
When Ari shows up at Shane’s school, angry and sullen and determined to keep him at arm’s reach, neither of them realize they are supposed to be killing each other, not falling in love. Until Ari does realize it, and she almost dies – by Shane’s hand.

MY COMMENTS
Well, you all know that I love a good byline and I really like the one on this book "She's never lost a fight in her life, but she's never battled love" The cover would make me pick it up from the shelf, the red of the skirt definitely attracts the eye to it. then there's the mysterious guy in the back ground. Then you read the blurb, and yes I find that appealing too. The blurb sounds like there will be plenty of teen drama going on in the book.
Will I be putting it on my Want To Read List? Yes I would definitely like to read this book.

MY COMMENTS
Wow this cover has plenty of colour's going on on it, so yes it attracts the eye to it. The byline on this one reads, "In a future where fascist oppression rules faith and art must once again stand up for religious freedom". The title of the book is in a graffiti style font which looks like it fits well with what the book is about. The blurb tells us it is a dystopian set story which appeals to me, but then the blurb also suggests a religious element to the book. I don't usually read overtly religious books but the dystopian element does interest me so I think I would still give this book a go.
Will I be putting it on my Want To Read List? Even though the book suggests religious content, I think I would still give it a go, so it's a yes!

BLURB from Astraea Press
Her mother, an ex-model, will do anything for love—and all the neighbors know it. Her father, a rich business executive, is cold and aloof. Now the Schmidt family has moved to California, and eighteen-year-old Eden must face a tough new school and a creepy, old house that certainly feels haunted.
When her mother is killed in a freak auto accident, Eden finds a wooden cross among her mother's possessions. Triggering what will become a final confrontation with her father, Eden accidentally falls down the stairs and breaks her neck.
"She could still remember looking deep into the eyes of her petrified father as she plum-meted towards the ground. His mouth was open in a horrified "O," while his face flashed so many colors that he was like a giant revolving jeopardy wheel. It was at that moment that she truly felt the fear course through her, for the truth finally hit her: she was going to die."
Though die she does, Eden also awakens to a new reality to learn that she has entered into purgatory—a place called Zemiothstai, where angels, beasts, and demons battle, and humans are tested as to their worthiness to enter heaven. Eden is told that she must be a light in a world of darkness, that she must find a way to reopen the gates of heaven, that it is all up to her to save the thousands of souls who may be forever trapped in hell if she cannot accomplish her mission. And she thought high school was hard.

MY COMMENTS
I find the colour's on this book appealing, though they are dark. There's a female on the cover, who I presume is Eden when I have read the blurb. Also after reading the blurb I think the darkness of the cover is to represent the darkness of the places in the book.
The blurb does sound interesting, the fact Eden dies and enters a different "afterlife" than what everyone seems to think of as the afterlife.
Will I be putting it on my Want To Read List? Even though I have absolutely loads and loads on my want to read list I would still add this title too! I mean come on, you can never have enough books on your want to read list!
