ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alexandrea Weis is an advanced practice registered nurse who was born and raised in New Orleans. Having been brought up in the motion picture industry, she learned to tell stories from a different perspective and began writing at the age of eight. Infusing the rich tapestry of her hometown into her award-winning novels, she believes that creating vivid characters makes a story memorable. A permitted/certified wildlife rehabber with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, Weis rescues orphaned and injured wildlife. She lives with her husband and pets in New Orleans.

Did
you do a lot of research for The Secret Broker?
Yes.
I had to review a lot about self-defence, guns used by the FBI, and about the
FBI in general. There was also the world of spies to research—technology and
different networks utilized by different organizations.
How
do you come up with the title for The Secret Broker?
It
just made sense. The organization brokers secrets, hence, The Secret Brokers.
It also came from a previous series, The Nicci Beauvoir Trilogy (To My Senses,
Recovery, and Sacrifice) . The organization and the people in it were
introduced in that series.
Who designed the Cover of your book? Do you have
a lot of input into the process?
The cover was designed by Deranged Doctor Designs, and
yes, I had a lot of input into the final product.
Do you play music, have a favourite chair, or special
routine for when you are writing?
I have a desk where I write, but I don’t listen to
music. Other than sitting and writing for several hours a day, I don’t have a special
routine associated with it.
Did
you have a playlist for this book?
There
are a few songs I feel describe the characters pretty well. Shape of My
Heart, and It’s Probably Me by Sting. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You.
If
you had to choose to be a character from The Secret Broker, which would you be
and why?
I
would love to be Gwen Marsh. She is feisty, matches Dallas in skill set, and has
lots of secrets.
Do
you have a favourite book out of the ones you have wrote? And why is it your favourite?
My
last release in 2019, Realm, about the wife of Alexander the Great, Roxanna, is
my favorite. The research dedicated to that novel was lifelong. It was the book
I’d wanted to write since the age of 16. That story is my baby!
