Nicknamed ‘the Shadow Reader’ for her ability to see ghosts, Dr Porter Biggleswade is a straight-talking paranormal investigator. While Porter’s work takes her to the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth, ghostly feuds are the least of her worries. A woman haunted by her living mother; a farmer plagued by spectral ewes; and a developer desperate to evict his mediaeval tenants show Porter that the living are as troubled as the shadows she is investigating.

Shadows in the Mist is the first book in my Porter Biggleswade series.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Amy Flint and I am the author of the Porter Biggleswade series. I’m lucky enough to live in York, which is purportedly one of the most haunted places in England. The city draws large crowds intrigued to learn more about our paranormal history.

I have a background in archaeology and I used to work in Pompeii and at the British Museum. I had the idea for the Porter Biggleswade series after moving to York in 2011 and discovering that ghosts are a key part of York life. It seems that most people have a ghost story to tell.

What is your name, where were you born and where do you live now?
My name is Amy Flint, and I was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire. I now live in York, North Yorkshire.
[Wow, talk about small world, I live in West Yorkshire, Near Pontefract

Did you always want to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?
I wouldn’t say that I have always wanted to be a writer; however, my life has always involved writing. I studied Archaeology as a science for my first degree before doing a Masters in Forensic Archaeological Sciences. I used to work in Pompeii, and at the British Museum, which both involved writing. I now find writing helps me to unwind, and I am currently in a position where I am able to focus on it full time.

Do you work another job as well as your writing work?
I have a baby, so am currently juggling motherhood with writing and absolutely loving it!

Who is your publisher? or do you self publish?
 I am self-published through Lulu.com
