AUTHOR INTERVIEW - CAMEO RENAE

What is your name, where were you born and where do you live now?
My name is Cameo Rosete (Rosete sounds like spaghetti), but I write under Cameo Renae, which is my first and middle name. It was my husband’s idea.  I was born in San Francisco, CA, but my family moved to Maui, Hawaii when I was three. In 2004-2005 we lived in Alaska, but moved back to Hawaii after my mother-in-law passed away.

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
The name of my novel is In My Dreams.
In My Dreams is a dark, suspenseful, romantic, emotional story about love that will never die.

Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
I’ve almost completed my next book, which is book 1 in a Paranormal Romance/Thriller and is set to be a Trilogy. We’ll see if that’s how it’ll end. I also have a MG Fantasy on the back burner. Hopefully I’ll get back to it, and finish it, sometime in the near future.

Have you ever based characters on people you know or based events on things that have happened to you?
I definitely use the characteristics of people I know, and some situations, but as far as basing a character totally on someone... nope, not yet.

What is your favourite book and Why?  Have you read it more than once?
My favorite book of all time is C.S. Lewis’ – The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I read it countless times. It was the book which sparked my love for reading, and took me to a wonderful place full of adventure. I’m still searching for my magic wardrobe!

Is there a book you know you will never read? Or one you tried to read but just couldn't finish?
There are two books that I downloaded onto my Kindle that I started, but couldn’t finish. Nope, I’m not gonna say which ones, but I just couldn’t get into them. I was bored to death. By the time I reached the 5th chapters, I gave up. They are still on my Kindle, and maybe one day I’ll finish them.

Is there anything in your book/books you would change now if you could and what would it be?
I don’t think I would change anything about my book. It seems to be getting great reviews as it stands, so I’m not changing a thing. J

What do you think about book trailers?
I love book trailers. They give you a wonderful visual of what the book is about. I’ve bought a few books because the trailers were so good.

What piece of advice would you give to a new writer?
Be yourself, write your best, and have fun writing. If you do that… then whether you make it, or not, you can be proud of yourself and your accomplishments and hold your head high.
