BLURB from Goodreads
I'm no coward. I want to make that perfectly clear. But after my life turned into a horror movie, I take fear a lot more seriously now. I finally became Dr. Carrie Ames just eight months ago. Then I was attacked in the hospital morgue by a vampire. Just my luck.
So now I'm a vampire, and it turns out I have a blood tie to the monster who sired me. The tie works like an invisible leash and I'm bound to him no matter what I do. And of course he's one of the most evil vampires on earth. With my sire hell-bent on turning me into a soulless killer and his sworn enemy set to exterminate me, things couldn't get much worse--except I'm attracted to them both.
Drinking blood, living as an immortal demon and being a pawn between two warring vampire factions isn't exactly how I'd imagined my future. But as my father used to say, the only way to conquer fear is to face it. So that's what I'll do. Fangs bared
MY REVIEW
The Turning by Jennifer Armintrout is book one in the Blood Ties Series. The primary character in the book is Dr Carrie Ames, who is attacked in a hospital ward and therefore turned into a vampire. Carrie has to learn what it means to be a vampire such as the fact she is now "blood tied" to the monster male vampire that turned. She then meets up with another vampire who shows her a less brutal way of living as a vampire . Of course this "good" vampire and the "monster" vampire that turned her are enemies.
I do not wish to give away any details of the plot as that may spoil your enjoyment of the book. Book flows well so reads easily and fairly quickly. It is written well so you end up caring about the good guys wanting to know how, when or if they are going to beat the bad guys.

I'd read Jennifer's laundry list, she's just that good. I had read this book in paperback years ago but lost it, so got the kindle to enjoy it again. It isn't for fans of fluffy paranormal though - some of it was fairly gruesome, but it's not so dark that it is off-putting, either. I've read the entire series and I like the way she manages her anti-heroes.
