Paranormalcy by Kiersten White is about Evie, who has always considered herself to be normal. Evie works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency. Evie's best friend is a mermaid, her boyfriend is a faerie, and she's falling for a shape shifter.So I suppose compared to them that is why Evie calls herself "normal".
Paranormal's are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and prophecies. Soon Evie realises that her abilities seem to be linked to the deaths in some way. Even worse she discovers she may be part of a prophecy that could mean the destruction of all paranormal creatures. What should she do?
The cover initially drew my eye to it on the asda shelf! I then read the blurb on the back cover of the book and was intrigued, as it sounded slightly different to the vampire stuff I had been reading at that time. I did enjoy the book and will certainly keep an eye out for the next book in the series.
