I think most people will admit to enjoying colouring at some point during their youth. I know as a young child I truly loved it. I of course re-visited this relaxing past time when my daughter was young. I think I enjoyed shopping for the different books and first crayons, then onto chubby pencils, for easy grip when my daughter was a toddler, right up to perusing special water-colour pencils as my daughter grew older. Now we adults don't need to wait to have youngsters around to return to a favourite hobby. Now colouring books are being made aimed specifically for adults. Colouring can be be a relaxing, peaceful stress relieving activity. The images you colour can be a simple or as complex and intricate as you wish. When you colour you focus on the task at hand, you concentrate to keep within those lines, ponder which colours to use and in what combination, pushing problems and the irritations of life to the back of your mind. If like myself, my elderly mother and my daughter you have problems with grip you can purchase special grips for your colouring pencils or use chunky, easier to hold colouring implements.
I think that adult colouring will become even more popular as the perfect pastime for the forthcoming dark and chillier nights.

REVIEW
I was super lucky and actually won a copy of this in a Giveaway being run by Jenna Lyn Field. I think this children's colouring book is a great way to teach your youngster their letters! There is one large letter per page with patterns around the letter, so you can colour the actual letter as well as the pattern/design around the letter too. As part of my "prize" I also received a great pack of colouring pencils so that I could get started immediately.
The colouring book is a good size that could easily be popped in a handbag with a few colouring pencils to occupy the young children whilst waiting in the Dentist or Doctors surgery, or perhaps even when going for a meal out to give the little ones something to do whilst they wait for their meal. The book is made up of a decent quality paper that could be removed carefully from the book and framed if you wished to do so making this book very useful to teach the alphabet to younger children, as well as encouraging them to have "quieter" time and coaching them to be patient and other such valuable lessons.
So to sum up I'd say this children's colouring book is both fun and educational too!

REVIEW
I actually purchased this one from Amazon to put away as a Christmas gift. The cover features a heart made up of intricately drawn flowers within it. I'd definitely pick this one up in a book store! I do love the illustrations in this one and am looking forward to maybe getting the chance to colour one or two of them in myself. This book is aimed more at adults and is called "Advanced Colouring" though I think older children who love colouring would enjoy the challenge of the more intricate designs to colour. The book is again made up of good quality paper, so if when you have coloured in the images you could easily remove them from the book to frame as artwork for your home.

REVIEW
I received a physical copy of this book, Advanced Colouring Bk2 to try it out myself from the author, Jenna Lyn Field in exchange for my honest review and opinion, The front cover on this book and the images inside this book are more elaborate and complicated. As part of the title this book is being promoted as an "Anti Stress Colouring book", and I'd say it really does help to reduce your stress levels. the whole thing of getting comfy with this book and some pens, pencils of your choice and ignoring everything around you as you put your mind to the task of colouring does genuinely help relieve stress.
I think you would need more concentration to sit and colour in these designs accurately and neatly, but at the same time they will give you an even greater sense of achievement when you have finished them.
Once again the paper quality is high and are well worthy of when coloured in being put into a frame and hung on your wall!
I love the swirls within this image that are small parts of a larger image.
The book is adult aimed but I could certainly imagine my daughter loving this book when she was about ten to twelve years old, she really did enjoy the peaceful pursuit of colouring.
Re-visit a childhood past time to relieve today's adult stress levels!
