A NOTE FROM ENA
I received this collection of individual novellas that are all in the New Bay Series by Nell Dixon from Astraea Press in exchange for my honest review's. The theme going through the books is one of water or being by the water, hence "New Bay". I think one of the easiest ways I can review these novellas is by scoring them out of 5 along with giving my opinion on the cover. I do not wish to give away plot lines or spoilers as these books are really enjoyable and should be read with no one else's thoughts to sway how you feel when beginning to read them. I will try my best not to reveal anymore than is eluded to in the blurbs of each book, then at the end I will do a sum up review of the whole collection.

BLURB for Making Waves
Cassidy Jones needs a holiday and her friend's cottage in New Bay sounds perfect. The beach could heal the bruises from losing her job and her fiancé. Perfect for some time alone to gather her thoughts and heal her broken heart.
Josh Parker is also looking forward to a much needed break after eighteen months of non-stop work. His out-of-town friend offers her cottage, and Josh thinks it would be just right for some time to let his hair down and revive his social life with his old surf buddies.
One cottage, two unsuspecting occupants, a recipe for romance or disaster?
ENA'S REVIEW
The cover is attractive enough, though would I pick it up from a book shelf ? Truthfully, I'm not sure, it doesn't have a wow that grabs me. Its not the best cover of the collection, but it sets the scene I would say.
Cassie needs a holiday to help her get over losing both her job and fiancé. The cottage in New Bay sounds ideal for a quiet, get away to heal the damage she is feeling within her heart.
Josh Parker is also in need of some where to stay for a holiday, his reasons for the holiday are much different to Cassidy's.
So is it fate when it turns out that the cottage is double booked? Will they get on with each other and develop a relationship, or will they hate each other?
Out of five I give it 5/5!

BLURB for September Song
Erin came to New Bay on her year out, keen to experience life in a vibrant seaside town famous for its surf and surfers. She doesn’t expect to be left with a very expensive spare ticket to the hottest concert in town.
Her boss, Kelly’s solution is to recruit Dan to take the ticket and escort Erin to the concert. But why would Erin want to go on an enforced date with the geekiest guy in New Bay? And why doesn’t ex-champion surfer, Dan surf anymore?
ENA'S REVIEW
This novella's cover is more appealing than the last, why? Maybe because it concentrates more on the happy couple on the front. This would probably make me take notice of it on a book shelf.
This novella features Erin who is on a "year out". So Erin has a problem she has, she has a spare ticket to one of the best ever concerts. What should she do with it? According to Erin's boss Kelly, the solution is quite simple, Dan should go with her. Erin isn't really sure she wants to go the concert with Dan, for one he is rather a "geek", then there's the mystery of why as a once surf champion , he no longer surfs... So will Erin give in to the pressure from her boss Kelly and go to the concert with Dan?
Out of five, I again have to say I would give 5/5!

BLURB for Cornish Christmas
Adam wants Meg to be more than a friend but Meg has her reasons for not wanting to move their relationship forward. It takes a stray dog, an emergency at sea and a touch of Christmas to show Meg her true feelings.
ENA'S REVIEW
This cover is a more Christmas themed novella. I do think the cover could have looked more wintery really.
So another relationship based story, this time it's the guy Adam who wants a more meaningful, less platonic relationship, but Meg doesn't seem so sure. Will things change? Will Adam get his ideal relationship with Meg or will she continue to keep him at arms length, as a friend only. Could Christmas have the added magic to turn their friendship into something more?
This one out of five is a definite 5/5!

BLURB for Easter Holiday
Cornish farmer, Noah Penwarren is sworn off city girls, especially deceitful ones. Posy Carmichael is a city girl through and through. When romantic sparks start to fly will Posy’s secret end their Easter romance before it’s even begun?
ENA'S REVIEW
Another holiday related title with "Easter Holiday". The cover is ok and I think would appeal to the target market well enough.
Again as well as the holiday theme we still have the romance theme. Noah is the local cornish farmer who is suspicious and stand offish not wanting anything to do with city girls. Even though previous experience tells Noah to stay clear he is drawn to Posy. Posy is of course exactly what Noah doesn't want....well his head says he doesn't want but what does his heart say about his feelings for Posy?
Once again a brilliant novella and a definite 5/5!

BLURB for New Bay Wedding
Emma has been busy organizing her older brother’s love life but now Noah plans to turn the tables on his meddlesome match-making sister. But is Ian the best man for this very particular bridesmaid?
ENA'S REVIEW
This one has a romantic cover of course to go with the wedding theme, the happy couple and could that be a charming rustic church in the background? So Emma has "match maked" her brother Noah, now in this novella he decides it's his turn to set up his younger sister with a suitable male. The question is who is the right one for Emma, and will Noah's match making skills pick out the right male for his sister.
This one is again a romantic novella, the type that has you Oooing and Aaaing in all the right places.
I really hate being repetitive but I have to say its another 5/5
ENA'S SUM UP
I enjoyed each individual novella, but think this series would be great as an omnibus edition its the perfect book for a curl up with a cuppa romantic reading fest!
So if you are stuck for something to buy your Auntie or Mum then this is the ideal gift, really. It's great for any one that's an old romantic at heart!
I seriously enjoyed each and everyone of these heart warming romantic tales.
So if I were to score the whole New Bay Series out five it would be a super 5/5 stars of course. Definitely recommend reading this series. Just don't stick to reading one get the whole set!
