BLURB from Goodreads
Harper only wanted a safe, normal life. But when her younger sister Gemma runs off with a dangerous clique of beautiful girls, Penn, Thea, and Lexi, everything changes. Vowing to get her sister back no matter what the cost, Harper must face dangers unlike any she's ever experienced. Fortunately, she has Daniel by her side, a gorgeous guy who's devoted to helping her find her sister—and who's immune to the girls' dark powers.

While Harper searches for her sister, Gemma struggles to adjust to her new life.  Gemma's powers are growing by the day, and the longer she lives with her new "sisters," the harder it is to resist entering their magical world.  It's a realm both dark and beautiful, and where she's plagued by strange hungers and unspeakable needs.  Just as she's drifting far away from her old life,  Harper and Daniel find her...but no one can deny how much she's changed.  All she wants is to return to her family and the mortal world, but how can she do that when she's become something else entirely—and will they still love her once they learn the truth?

Prepare to fall under the spell of Lullaby, the second book in the Watersong series from New York Times bestselling author Amanda Hocking.

MY REVIEW
My daughter Rachel of Rai29BookReadNReview and I received this gorgeous signed hardback copy of Lullaby from St Martins Press in exchange for our honest review. It is the second book in the Watersong series by Amanda Hocking. I really like the cover of this book, which makes even more sense after reading the book. The girl on the cover is Gemma standing on the rocks looking out to sea. Would I pick it up from a shelf in a book store? Yes and to be honest after reading BK#1 in the Watersong Series I would be looking out for this book anyway.
So I finished reading book one, Wake, and as soon as I finished it I immediately picked up Lullaby to start reading it, and I didn't, wouldn't, couldn't put it down until I had finished it.
In this instalment we know what the three dangerous and mysterious girls are. Penn, Thea and Lexi are.....well you need to find out exactly what they are by reading the book. What I can say without revealing spoilers is that Penn is the leader of the evil trio. Gemma has left with them we know from book one. In this book we follow Harper (Gemma's Sister) Alex (Gemma's Boyfriend) and Daniel (Harper's friend/potential boyfriend) as they try to learn more about the mythology involved around the curse that Gemma has got caught up in.
So will Harper, Daniel and Alex find Gemma? And if they find her will she have changed as evil as the three girls she left with? Will Gemma even want to come home with them? Will the terrible trio allow Gemma to return with her family and friends?
Well I could answer all those questions but then that would spoil the book wouldn't it?
This book is captivating, and you certainly do not want to put it down! It's action packed, full of drama and danger. You become so attached to the characters. The book is so well written that you can really understand what Gemma feels, the sacrifices she feels she has to make, the perhaps bad decisions she makes as well as understanding how Harper reacts to what is happening with Gemma too.
Though the girls are sisters, and alike they are also very different in how they approach problematic situations. The two guys in the book, Daniel and Alex are both insanely in love and feel they need to protect the girls as much as they can, even though the girls are as strong minded as they are strong willed.and able to look after themselves.
So did I enjoy this book? Yes, loved it even more than book one. Would I recommend this book? Yes I definitely recommend this series! Would I read more of this series? I really want to read the next and last book as soon as possible! Definitely looking forward to the next in the series. Would I read more books by Amanda Hocking? I will certainly be trying some of her other series out too.
