An aspiring
teenage singer finds herself playing a different tune when she falls for a boy
who could jeopardize her future dreams in Olivia Wildenstein’s romantic YA
novel, Not Another Love Song.
Angie has
studied music her entire life, nurturing her talent as a singer. Now a high
school senior, she has an opportunity to break into Nashville’s music scene via
a songwriting competition launched by her idol, Mona Stone. Discouraged by her
mother, who wishes Angie would set more realistic life goals, she nonetheless
pours her heart and soul into creating a song worthy of Mona.
But Angie’s
mother is the least of her concerns after she meets Reedwood High’s newest
transfer student, Ten. With his endless collection of graphic tees, his
infuriating attitude, smoldering good looks, and endearing little sister, Ten
toys with the rhythm of Angie’s heart.
She’s never
desired anything but success until Ten entered her life. Now she wants to be
with him and to be a songwriter for Mona Stone, but she can’t
have both.
And picking one
means losing the other.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
USA
TODAY bestselling author Olivia Wildenstein grew up in New York City and earned
her bachelor’s in comparative literature from Brown University. After designing
jewelry for a few years, Wildenstein traded in her tools for the writing
life, which made more sense considering her college degree.
When she’s not sitting at her computer, she’s psychoanalyzing everyone she meets (Yes. Everyone), eavesdropping on conversations to gather material for her next book, and attempting not to forget one of her kids in school.
She has a slight obsession with romance, which might be the reason why she writes it. She’s a hybrid author of over a dozen mature Young Adult love story.

Could you tell
us a little about Not Another Love Song (in around 20 word-ish)?
Not Another Love Song is a story about ambition and determination,
about following your dreams wherever they may lead.
Is Not Another
Love Song the start of a series/book collection with Swoon Reads?
However much I
adored Ten, Angie, and Nev, and would’ve loved to see them grow into adults, Not Another Love Song will be a
standalone.
As a member of
the Swoon Reads site, I know that there were a few suggestions for the book
cover of Not Another Love Song and there was a vote on it. Would you consider
doing this again for other books you may write in the future (with or without
Swoon Reads)?
I would
absolutely do it again. I loved the idea of voting on a cover and enjoyed
seeing how engaged "swooners" were in the process.(I have to admit that helping to choose covers etc is one of the things I love doing the most as a "swooner")
As you write
different genres, do you have a favourite and why is it your favourite?
I actually
don’t have a favorite. I love YA contemporary romance, because of the emotional
rawness of teenager-hood, and I adore paranormal romance because, at heart, I’m
still a kid who believes in magic. (I think your reasons for writing YA are similar to my reasons for enjoying reading it even though I am ...er...way past teenager-hood lol!)
Now a few
difficult ones (sorry lol):
Which of the
books you’ve written is your favourite?
This is like
asking me which of my three children is my favourite. How can I possibly pick?(sorry ...not sorry I couldn't resist!)
I will say,
though, that Ghostboy, Chameleon and the Duke of
Graffiti (think The Fault
in Our Stars meets Eleanor & Park)
holds a special place in my heart, because it was my first book, and because,
although sweet, the story deals with one of my greatest fears.
Which of your
book covers is your favourite?
Oh gosh . . .
another hard one. If I have to pick
just one, I’m in love with the cover for A
Pack of Blood and Lies, because it fits my story (about a girl
in an all-male pack of werewolves) to perfection.
Do you have a
favourite character from the books you have written?
I think they’re
all my favorites, even the bad ones. Especially the bad ones . . . like Lucas
in The Boulder Wolves. ;) (I adored The Boulder Wolves and loved the good & bad characters!)
Seriously,
though, I adored writing Angie from Not
Another Love Song. She’s quirky but has a solid mind and a good
heart. Most recently, I had a blast writing Amara Wood, the main character from
the last spinoff of The Lost Clan
series, Reckless Cruel Heirs.
And sorry but
can’t resist the question I personally really, really want to ask is, Will
there be more Boulder Wolves in any shape (spin off)? Annnd When can I read
it/them pleeease?
YES and
absolutely yes! A Pack of Storms and Stars
(Liam’s story) has officially been added to the line up on Amazon. (Oh wow! That's amazing news, I will be eagerly, maybe a little impatiently awaiting A Pack Of Storms and Stars!)
Finally, What
else can we expect from you in the future?
I’m working on Celestial (the sequel
to Feather) and co-writing
a witchy, French-flavored duology set in Brittany. The latter has been such a
fun experience. The only thing I’ve disclosed about this project are the titles
of the books: Of Wicked Blood and Of Tainted Hearts.
More on these very soon.
Excited for Of Wicked Blood. Thanks for this interview!
