How many books will there be in the Howl For The Damned series?
There will be three books for Howl for the Damned series, all of which are available for purchase or pre-order. All three will be completely live before summer is in full bloom.
Did you have to any specific research for The Trouble With Beasts? If so what/how did you do it?
I did, actually. There is quite a bit of Native American culture and lore in this series. All my series connect – all the same world, sometimes reoccurring characters. But I like to mix it up and sprinkle a bit of truth inside the magic. Native American culture has always held such a special place in my heart. It was a true honor just to research and plug in what I learned.
Who designed the Cover of your book? Do you have a lot of input into the process?
I design all my own covers. It’s just another creative outlet for myself, and this series by itself took me a full year to settle with a version I liked. In the end, I had three different sets of covers for Howl for the Damned series I had to choose from. Once I settled, I gave the other covers away to friends who would use them.
Do you, basic plot/plan for each individual book in the series, before you actually begin writing it all out? Or do you let the writing flow and see where it takes the story?
A little of both. All my series connect, so there’s always a larger plot to follow which spans across all the series. Other than the main plot and personal growths, I try not to plot too much. I enjoy it when the characters can speak for themselves.
Do you listen to music or have something else that you use whilst writing?
I do listen to music. Depending on the scene, I’ll swap between Lindsay Sterling, Two Steps from Hell, and Brooklyn Duo. A whole lot of instrumental music.
Which is your favourite book series you have written out of Howl For The Damned, The Cloven Pack, Rise Of The Realms, or the Night Of Terror?
Oh boy! Each has a special place in my heart. If I had to choose, I would pick Rise of the Realms. The world is so vast and large, and the plot even more so. Twisty. Gothic. Dark. An intense amount of magic and power. All good things we readers love. It’s the series that opens to all my other series – the foundation of Divinus Kingdom itself. In Rise of the Realms, the possibilities were always endless. I enjoyed that.
Do you have a favourite genre you prefer writing?
Oh, definitely. While paranormal romance is where my writing career was birthed, fantasy is what I’m married to. PNR is urban, and urban has laws and boundaries when it comes to writing. Whereas fantasy . . . I can build an entire new world. I literally get to step out of this reality and into a fictional one – one that I can construct from the bottom up with whatever I can imagine. I enjoy the freedom of it.
What can we expect from you next and in the future?
In the future, chiefly directly after Howl for the Damned series is published, I have another series plotted and ready. The first book is out for pre-order actually. Written and waiting to be released. The series is called Heavy Lies the Crown. I made up an entirely new world for this. I drew a map on my wall for it – my kids think the map is awesome and my husband just grins at it. The magic in Heavy Lies the Crown is so great and powerful, that I find myself giddy just talking about it.
After Heavy Lies the Crown I’ll be publishing another PNR, title not yet chosen, then Blood of the Guardians, which is about the elves on the Guardian Realm who were introduced in Rise of the Realms.
