The curvy and beautiful Eme Stonewell is the alpha’s daughter. She believes in fated mates and happily-ever-afters, but that’s not what is in store for her. In order to keep the rogues from taking over the territory, the Brook Mountain Pack and Stonewell Pack must create an alliance. That alliance comes in the form of Eme mating – imprinting – with the Brook Mountain Alpha, Logan Brook.

Not only is Logan Brook the Brook Mountain Alpha, but he’s the Head Alpha of all the United States packs. He needs this alliance between the packs to help maintain his campaign. He doesn’t mind that he has to imprint with the alpha’s daughter. In fact, he finds her stunning. But he has one problem. She wants absolutely nothing to do with him, and she isn’t afraid to say it.

Without the mating, there is no alliance. How is he going to convince her that he’s a decent guy – that he might be her happily-ever-after after all?

REVIEW
I do like the new cover of Reject Me, I like the colours and the imagery but I’ll be honest I also really liked the previous book cover. Which book cover would make me more likely to pick it up from a bookstore shelf? Truthfully either cover would make me pick up the book to learn more.

The book begins with a nervous, reluctance, rather idealistic, Emeline Stonewall, only daughter of Lee Stonewell, Alpha of the Stonewell pack. Emeline’s or Eme as she prefers to be called has her cases packed and her life is about to change for forever.

An alliance between the Stonewell pack and the Brook Mountain pack has been made, they need each other to have the power, wolf/man number and money to defeat the increasing number of rogue wolves congregating on the flats area that controls the city which has necessary amenities and supplies their pack need. To seal the alliance Eme Stonewell is to become the mate/marry the Alpha of the Brook Mountain pack. Logan Brook is not only the Brook Mountain pack Alpha, he is also Head US Alpha too, meaning it is an extremely prestigious match for Eme as well as a political one. Logan Brook is a more modern Alpha and doesn’t always do things the old way. He prefers to ask questions, give warnings and second chances than to just kill those that step out of line. This more modern side to Logan and his patience and his caring nature are what eventually break the walls that Eme has built up. Eme is more idealistic and wanted the fairytale true mate experience that hardly ever happens these days. Though Eme has sex with Logan she refuses to allow him to bite her and claim her as his mate. Though Eme is reluctant to be claimed she wants to be involved in managing the pack and all that entails. Some pack members are shocked to see Eme has not yet been claimed by Logan whilst others are more used to the different way Logan does things so just accept the situation as it is. One person who doesn’t accept the situation at all is Dillon, Eme’s obsessed ex, who thinks Eme has been stolen away from him. Eme’s father Lee is not pleased that Eme has not yet been claimed fully and issues an ultimatum, if they have not performed the bonding by the end of the week, Eme will have to return to the Stonewell pack and there will be no alliance! Emeline is surprised that Logan doesn’t force her to be claimed and I think partly for that reason she begins to relax and allow herself to start to get to know him more.

If that isn’t enough for Eme and Logan to be dealing with it soon becomes apparent that the rogue wolves are causing issues, with the increasingly plentiful supply of a drug for shifters called “wolfcalm”, though it certainly doesn't 'calm' the wolf it makes them crazy, deranged & looking for a fight!

There is also someone encroaching on Brook Mountain territory whenever they feel like it whilst avoiding the many patrols in place, meaning they may have a inside connection with the Brook Mountain pack. So, there’s a Brook Mountain pack traitor to be found and dealt with too. When a young boy almost dies after taking Wolf Calm, Eme’s father Lee turns up to see if he can help in anyway and to see for himself if his daughter and Logan have performed the bonding yet. He reiterates his ultimatum about Eme having to return to Stonewell.

Throughout all the drama and upset Eme proves herself easily capable of running the Brook Mountain pack at Logans side, even taking an attack by his jealous ex Becca in her stride. When Eme and Logan put aside the rather large elephant in the room that they should have mate bonded they realise they have a lot in common and like a lot of the same things. It is the match making help of Logan’s inner circle of pack members that eventually help the couple come together and perform the mate bond. With advice from Beta Wayne on how to woo Eme, and then him joining the Alpha’s cook Val and Head Enforcer Draven to create the perfect atmosphere for the couple to finally bond.

Characters I loved were of course Eme and Logan, but I also immediately adored Val, Wayne and Draven. I found it highly amusing that Wayne was giving advice on wooing a mate to Logan and was quite oblivious the Val who is clearly besotted with Wayne! I also loved the character of Draven who came across like a big brother to Eme, helping her settle in as well as teasing her and welcoming her to the pack. I hope there's a suitably cute & curvy potential mate for Draven in bk2. I also had an instant soft spot for Viola and Clark. Characters I enjoyed disliking were Dillon and Becca, the obsessive ex-partners who thought they should be with Eme and Logan, and just couldn’t help themselves from trying to interfere.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were Oh Wow! I haven’t sat and read a book in just one day for a while and I can’t wait to read more, but at the same time I don’t want my journey with these characters to end!

Summing up Reject Me by DV Fischer is the first book in the Brook Mountain duology and I loved it! I hated having to put this one down (even when my washing machine broke & needed attention!). The only negative I have is that it’s only a duology, I would have loved exploring more of this world and its characters!

Val has loved the same man for as long as she can remember. The only problem, he doesn’t love her back.

Fated mates are hard to find, but that’s not what Val dreams of. She just wants to be with Wayne. So, on the night of Eme and Logan’s mating ceremony, she approaches Wayne and confesses her feelings. Even though he is drunk, she’s hoping he returns the same feelings. Wayne, being the ladies man that he is, takes her to bed. Thinking that he does feel the same, she’s excited about it . . . until the next day.

He doesn’t remember anything. Their coupling, her confession. Nothing.

Wayne is oblivious as to why Val won’t talk to him anymore, but he has bigger problems than women right now. Wolfcalm is still on the rise, and if they don’t get a handle on it, and the rogues who are selling it, the humans will start revolting. The last thing they need to is fear the humans.

REVIEW
Desire Him picks up right after the fight at the end of Reject Me that was between Logan and Dillon at the mating party, and the banishment of a traitor within the pack. Thought the mood doesn’t stay sombre as the drink flows and the party continues. Eme catches Val longingly staring at Wayne and suggests Val should talk to Wayne, tell him her true feelings. Then at least Val will know one way or another if there is a chance at a future relationship between them or not. With Val full up on “Dutch courage” supplied by the flowing alcohol she approaches Wayne who is talking and drinking with Draven. Val asks for a word alone with Wayne, one thing leads to another and they end up going off together. The following morning when Val has got up to make breakfast it becomes apparent Wayne has no recollection of the night before or the fact he slept with Val! Val is crushed and ends up confiding in Eme who encourages Val to talk to Wayne about what happened but Val is stubborn and even when Wayne realises something happened and is trying to contact Val, she makes him wait until she is ready to talk and quite rightly makes him work a little for her attention.

Wayne makes a rogue contact, Jimmy, who reveals some interesting information and who proves to be a valuable link to someone who can help rescue Eme and Val when they are kidnapped by the city rogues and their new Alpha. Logan, Wayne and Draven mount a rescue with the help of city rogue Sammi who happens to turn out to be someone rather special. Wayne realises he does have true, deep feelings and he wants to settle down with Val.

I enjoyed the at times comedic romance between Val and Wayne and the way Eme pushed them together to eventually sort things out one way or another. I thought the Wolf Calm plot was interesting and though I had an inkling who the new Alpha would be just before he was revealed, it was still a little shocking how someone could change so quickly.

I loved the characters of Eme, Val, Logan, Wayne, and Draven and even grew to really like Becca in the end. I enjoyed the banishment and the fight for Eme between Logan and Dillon was tense and not a sure thing that Logan would win! I instantly loved Sammi and wish we had got more of her, perhaps a novella or turn Brook Mountain into series rather than leaving it a duology and give Sammi and Draven a book of their own?! I thought the Val and Wayne scenario had some hilarious moments, the way Wayne thinks of himself as an expert with women especially after giving tips to Logan on how to woo Eme, yet he couldn’t see the person that was besotted with him right under his nose, cleaning his house and cooking his meals for him.

I found the shifter world & plot fascinating, how differently Logan runs things as Head Alpha of the US and Brook Mountain Alpha than his predecessors. During his fight for Eme with Dillon he didn’t want a fight to the death, he was going to allow Dillon to live. The way he has to handle rogue wolves, betrayal within his own pack, the alliance with the Stonewell pack as well as all the romance going on too. I adored the characters especially the shy curvy shifter women as they found their perfect shifter male matches! I loved the little details within the book such as every shifter business displays a paw in its window.

The only negatives I have is that the ending where it jumped to Christmas felt rushed and that I would have loved more books about this group of characters. I mean there is potential for a book about Draven and his fated mate! And more of the pack could be introduced along with different issues the Brook Mountain pack and its Alpha may have to deal with. I’d really love more!!

My immediate thoughts upon finishing the book were that I had enjoyed the Duology so much that I wanted more!

Summing up, great curvy girl, steamy, paranormal shifter duology!!
